Why Now

A few years ago a once in a century occurence altered the world, the covid pandemic. I was prematurely retired and my wife was working from home. Our spare time was spent watching television or sitting on the swing in our beautiful backyard. We were watching numerous Youtube videos of expats relocating to numerous countries. My adventurous wife said one night that we should consider relocating. It would allow my wife to retire six years early and us both to have a more fulfilling life. We researched numerous cities in numerous countries. We both believe everyone should find there own path.

Why Cuenca

Cuenca had all the bells and whistles that we were looking to obtain. Good transportation, museums, symphony, theater, plenty of restaurants. Just remember this is highly subjective and most people will have their own reasons for their own preferences in life.

How Did It Happen

We made up our criteria list and Cuenca was number one on our list. We sold our house and move to Cuencq. We had decided that any country we picked we would try up to three cities. If we weren’t satisified move onto the next city or if necessary the next country. We had decided to travel the world and our country pick would be our home base.

We were just so fortunate that we loved our new home, Cuenca.
